Overnight markets
Asian markets bounced this morning with almost all markets positive. Things look particularly good in India (Bombay Sensitive Index up 1.2% so far this morning) and Chine (Hang Seng up 1.6%, Shanghai Composite up 0.6%).
Combined with the strong performance in the US towards the end of the day, European markets, including London, are likely to open up on yesterday’s close, by at least a good fraction of a percent, in addition to the good performance yesterday afternoon, that reduced the days losses.
Corporate news was mixed with “restructuring” at Johnson and Johnson, but some good results from Asian companies.
Warren Buffet’s purchase of a railway company cheered the markets yesterday, and may continue to help sentiment as he has shown a high level of confidence by buying a cyclical business.
